On October 18, 2023, two events took place within the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences as part of Koç University’s Science Fair.
UNIC Engaged Research Seed Fund - Dr. Özge Karanfil
Dr. Özge Karanfil, Assistant Professor of Operations Management and Information Systems at the College of Administrative Sciences and Economics and jointly at the School of Medicine, received a grant from the “UNIC Engaged Research Seed Fund” for her research project titled “A Systems Modeling Approach to Analyze Policy Implications of Multi-Cancer Blood Tests for Early Detection of Cancer in Community Medicine (SYM2CED).”
TÜBİTAK 2247-A National Leader Program Grant
Professor Kamil Yılmaz from the Department of Economics received the TÜBİTAK 2247-A National Leader Program Grant, 2021, with the project titled “Inflation Connectedness and the Gravity Model.
Koç University Continues its Status as Türkiye’s Only University With EQUIS Accreditation
The European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), which has been established for the quality assessment and development of higher education institutions operating in the fields of the administrative sciences and business management, has renewed its accreditation for Koç University. Koç University is the only academic institution in Türkiye to attain this accreditation.
Social Science Project Receives Eur 1.4 Million Grant
Koç University Department of International Relations faculty member and director of Migration Research Center (MiReKoc) Professor Ahmet İçduygu and his team was awarded a grant of ~1.4 million euros from the European Commission Twinning Action fund for his project, entitled “Bridging the Migration and Urban Studies Nexus BROAD-ER” making it the second Twinning project to be coordinated by Koç University.
Koç University students are at the CFA Institute Research Challenge Finals!
The finalists of the CFA Investment Research Challenge, organized by the CFA Institute, one of the world’s leading financial institutions, and hosted by the CFA Istanbul Society, have been determined. Among the 22 universities and 26 teams participating from Türkiye, the Koç University team became one of the 6 teams that made it to the finals.

Koç University Becomes Türkiye’s First And Only University To Have “Triple Crown” Accreditation
The Koç University College of Administrative Sciences and Economics and Graduate School of Business have been granted accreditation by the global accreditation institution AACSB International (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). Having previously attained AMBA and EQUIS accreditations, Koç University has become the first and only academic institution in Türkiye to have the “Triple Crown” of the three most prestigious accreditations in this field.
