“The Outstanding Achievement Award” at the 18th Kadir Has Awards was given to Prof. Dr. Ziya Öniş from the Department of International Relations

Koc University Research Team, led by their academic mentor Dr. Zekiye Selvili (CASE) has won the local CFA Research Challenge. The Research Challenge, hosted by the CFA institute, is the most prestigious finance competition in the world, involving more than 900 universities across the globe.

As the Koç University UNIC delegation, we attended the UNIC CityLabs Festival held in Bilbao, Spain from April 24-27, 2023. The UNIC alliance is made up of ten universities facing similar challenges and opportunities in post-industrial cities.

Assoc. Prof. Justin Marcus from the Department of Business Administration is the Main Proposer of a newly approved EU COST Action network entitled “LeverAge”.

In the project “How Shall I Pay? Having Multiple Payment Options Increases Purchase Likelihood,” Assistant Professor Nazlı Gürdamar Okutur from the Department of Business Administration investigates how the availability of multiple payment options influences consumer spending.

Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Özsomer researches the social benefit of TV ads in addition to their direct effects on brand marketing.

The project “ Gender, Network Cognition, Public Administration and Policy” by Assoc. Prof. Güneş Ertan from the Department of International Relations investigates to what extent men’s and women’s workplace relations perceived differently in public administration contexts.

MIREKOC team’s project, “The European University of Post-Industrial Cities (UNIC),” which is the second phase of “UNIC 2.0” has been recognized among the successful projects funded by the European Commission and will receive renewed funding for four years. This funding amounts to a total of 14.5 million euros, including approximately 1.4 million euros for Koç University.

Zeynep Akşin Karaesmen, Professor of Operations Management in the College of Administrative Sciences and Economics, received the “TUBITAK 1001 – Support Program for Scientific and Technological Research Projects” grant with her research project entitled “The Effects of Pricing and Nudge Interventions to Increase the Uptake of Telemedicine During a Pandemic”.
